It’s finally here! ‘Little Trinkets’ is now available to read in Issue 39 of The Deadlands magazine!

Exiting news: this is my second ever paid story. I am so pleased to get a piece into Deadlands, this is the perfect place for it. The Deadlands is a quarterly spec fic magazine that publishes stories about death and death-adjacent things. That’s sort of my whole schtick…
I’m so excited for them to publish ‘Little Trinkets’ and for everyone to get the opportunity to read it. As I said in my previous post, ‘Little Trinkets’ is a poetic 350-word short story, told from the perspective of three birds that discover a corpse dumped in a field. It explores the idea of life cycles and our usefulness after death. It celebrates the idea that our end is not the end. A little bit memento mori vibes?
There’s plenty of other stories and poems in the magazine too! I really enjoyed the story ‘Everlasting’ by Daniel Oluremi and the poem ‘Quietude II’ by Adamu Yahuza Abdullahi.
I hope you guys go read the story, I think it’s a good one!
