I’m pretty happy with how 2025 went in regards to writing, so I’m hoping to bring that energy to 2026.

#1: Novella

I would really like to try getting further into a novella again. I got so far into the last one before running out of steam and the idea I had in 2025 could just do with some more research because it’s a historical horror. I work best with a routine but also the moment the routine is ruined is the moment the momentum is lost.

#2: Poetry

I actually really liked working on the poetry pamphlet I sent off in 2025, so I might dabble some more. Picking a theme and experimenting with forms helped me feel like my creativity was really flowing. It also helped me work out some feelings about how shit everything is.

#3: Keep Experimenting

I want to make sure that I keep trying new things with my writing. Last year, I ended up writing quite a few pieces that were less than 500 words, which I think really forces me to be creative and work with such a small space.

#4: Rewrites

I started going through some old stories and editing them to make them ready for publishing. I would like to continue brining up the quality of my older pieces.

#5: Keep it up

I just hope I have the energy to keep creating in 2026. The acceptances I recieved in 2025 has motivated me and I look forward to hopefully recieving some more in the future.
