I am delighted to announce that my short story ‘A Timeless Game’ will be appearing in Issue 4 of Tales of Blood and Roses!

Before divorce, one could always rely on husbands dying untimely deaths in mysterious ways.

Inspired by the rise of trad-wife rhetoric and people’s misplaced nostalgia, ‘A Timeless Game’ follows two children playing house and copying the unhealthy dynamics they’ve witnessed, falling into a grand tradition of abuse and cruelty, with deadly consequences. A cautionary tale about traditional gender roles, toxic masculinity, and romanticisation of the past, ‘A Timeless Game’ spits in the face of all idiots that think we need to go back to the way things were.

Issue #4 descends into the theme Dangerous Games—where every move carries consequence, every wager demands sacrifice, and the rules are carved in bone and sealed in blood.
